In 1977, Jim McDonough Sr. began modestly with three employees and a small office and warehouse in Northville Michigan.  Over the past 30 years our agency has grown from 1 office, 3 employees and 2,000 sq/ft of office and warehouse space to 3 offices, 21 employees and 35,000 sq/ft of office and warehouse space.

We have 6 outside salespeople calling on distributors, contractors, engineers, MRO's, OEM's, schools and municipalities.  Our inside staff consists of 7 experienced sales people.

Our computer system is a Windows based network with Windows XP workstations.  Our 15 workstations have internet access and communication capabilities with our manufacturers.  McDonough & Associates has always re-invested in the Company and strive to use the latest technology in serving our customers.

McDonough & Associates has grown and adapted to an ever changing market over the last two decades.  We are a young and energetic Company that will continue to grow over the next 30 years.


Mission Statement


McDonough & Associates provides manufacturers of Electrical and Telecom products access to all phases of Michigan.  Our sales staff has established a loyal relationship with distributors, industrial, commercial, and residential contractors, specifying engineers, OEM's and industrial facilities' management.

Our Company provides accurate product knowledge, pricing and delivery information to our customers on time.  We establish distribution channels for manufacturers and educate our customers on products we represent.  All Company employees are dedicated to maximizing sales volume and profitability for our manufacturers and distributors.

Our continued success will be achieved through a loyal, honest and profitable relationship between customer, representative and manufacturer.  McDonough & Associates will facilitate relations between manufacturer and customer so each grows annually in sales volume and profit.

Sales Philosophy (Inside Personnel)


Every inside sales person can answer pricing and general product knowledge questions on all lines represented.  Some lines have "Point People".  In these cases, the point person is an expert on that product line and handles major quotations and projects involving that line.


Sales Philosophy (Outside Personnel)

All outside salespeople have territory responsibilities for distributors, contractors, engineers and any or all end users.  We pride ourselves on making the end user call and spending more time with the distributors' customers than at the distributors themselves.
